On the new servers few maps are bugged like the 8bitctf(i dunno if ctfs)

I have some Problems with the new servers too Sad
My download became very slow (new maps) and the whole game became laggy...
There are these micro lags Schocki mentioned but sometimes much badder.
Then I can't play on the Element Server because the other players lag on my screen and sometimes I die suddely because I have been hit a few seconds ago...
Does somebody has this Problems too?
Is there a solution?
Sry that I have to tell you about these Problems Sad

The map bugs are fixable and i'll be working on that as soon as i have time. The minimal lags i haven't really noticed myself so i dont really know how i could fix it. However i will try some things and hopefully it'll get fixed for you guys.

Thank you vega. And i haven't Me][ster problems... And maps problems was checked by flag, i dropped the flag and it had a too long or too short time to come back... on same map 8bitctf(s) and wind saw this too.

I think 8bitsctf was designed like that Slaughter. Sometime flag takes very long to return after drop. Nexus, please confirm this. I think it makes the map less predictable and very nice to play.

@kwakkie seems very unlikely that that is the case since if a cvar is writting in the config it overwrites all the map based cvars.

& yes hopefully friday i'll fix as much as possible and add dissocia Smile

yea i think the server still uses an outdated version of 8bitctf where half of the hurt zone is missing

I've just played a few games on the CTF 1vs1 server. My ping was actually constantly between 40 and 80 and there were no pl.
Nevertheless I had hard lag problems ... when I shoot sb, when I pick up the flag, when I make a cap, when I die, all these things are showed to me 2-5 seconds too late ...
and me and my opponent move around with 1 FPS although we had that nice ping ...
There are also nice phases, but the most time its so strange laggy Sad

Hmm very weird. As for as i know there are a few types of lag: fps lag, tps lag and internet lag. The first one is client related and cannot be fixed by me. Tps lag is server related but is allready very lagfriendly on our server so it can't be improved. Internet lag is just based on how far you are from the server location, germany isn't so far from the netherlands so its not this either :/ Does germany have problems with ddos attacks (= destributed denial of service)? This is pretty much that your internet gets flooded with packages so you can't properly play. But i guess this would result in pl...

Kwakkie could we maybe increase the video memory a bit? maybe that helps because it was nearly all in use last time i checked
